The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum was
held in 1949 four years after the end of the war in 1945, the design
competition of the whole memorial park including the facilities of the Memorial
Museum on the land in Hiroshima City was implemented. And this design plan of
the Kenzo Tange team was elected among about 150 entries. The Hiroshima Peace
Memorial Museum has been refurbished several times, so the details are different
from the design at the time, but still the continuous louvers and the piloti
architecture are releasing the presence as it is.
